MODERATOR

Dorothea Ioannou, Managing Director (Greece) and Global Business Development Director, The American P&I Club. St. John's University School of Law in New York, Juris Doctorate, 1996 . In 1997 relocated to Greece. In 1998 entered the Marine Insurance Industry when joining Allied Insurance Brokers Ltd as Legal Advisor for Insurance/Brokerage matters. In 2005 joined SCB (Hellas) Inc as a Claims Executive at first and as General Manager and Area Business Development Director in 2009. In June 2015 she was named Global Business Development Director. She is a Member of the New York State Bar Association, stands on the Executive Committee of the NY Management Company Shipowners Claims Bureau, Inc. and currently serves a second two year term as Vice President on the WISTA Hellas Board

PANELISTS

Liona Bachas

Athens University, B.Sc. in Economics and Political Sciences (graduated with distinction), 1987 City University Business School (CASS), M.Sc. in Shipping, Trade and Finance, 1988. In 1988 joined Carriers Chartering Corporation as a Chartering broker. In 1990 formed a partnership with Zim Israel Navigation for chartering vessels based at Hellastir Shipping Agencies. In 2000 established Hellaschart Ltd as a Managing Director. Founding member of WISTA Hellas, the Newbuilding Club and the Greek Shipbrokers Shipping Companies Association. Has served as Secretary of both WISTA Hellas and the Greece-Israel Friendship League. Serves now as Vice President of the Hellenic Shipbrokers Association. Has been honored with the Lloyds List 'SHIPBROKER OF THE YEAR 2011' award.


George D. Gourdomichalis

University of Massachusetts, Amherst, BA International Economics & Political Science, 1989. Maritime College Fort Schuyler, MSc Ocean Marine Transportation Management, 1992. In 1989 joined Republic National Bank of New York. In 1992 joined S.S. Maritime Inc. of New York. In 1996 returned to Greece and co-founded Gourdomichalis Naftiki Eteria S.A. Since 2000 co-founded Free Ships S.A., Free Bulkers S.A., G. Bros Maritime S.A.. Currently CEO of Blue Wall Shipping Limited and MD Phoenix Shipping & Trading S.A. Serves on the RINA Hellenic Committee, the Board of Directors of the American P&I Club, the Industry Advisory Board of the NAMMA, President of the Board of Directors of the Piraeus Marine Club, and member of the Baltic Exchange, Intercargo, BHCC, HSSA and BIMCO.


Manos Lorentzos

Managing Director of Seascope Hellas S.A. and a Director of the Lloyd’s broker (Seascope Insurance Services) in London as of 2013. He is a Certified Insurance Broker by the Hellenic Ministry of Development. Manos holds an Economics degree from the University of Athens and an MBA from Aston Business School in the UK. He started his career in 1990 as a Lloyd's broker in London with Sedgwick Marine & Cargo Ltd. He returned to Greece in 1993 as an Insurance Manager with a major shipping company. In 1995 he set up the Greek office of the French marine insurance broker Groupe Eyssautier which later became Groupe Eyssautier Greece SA. He has also served as Chairman of the Hellenic Committee of Lloyd's Brokers Associates since 2011, having been a member of the Board of Directors since 2006.


Manos Lorentzos

Rea Metropoulou

Partner at Bartsiokas Metropoulou & Associates, Lawyers, Legal & Claims Manager at Hellenic Carriers Corporation S.A. Rea studied Law at the University of Athens, Faculty of Law and holds an LL.M degree from the University of Cambridge, UK. She has been working in the shipping industry as of 1995 as an Attorney at Law in major shipping law firms as well as at Elefsis Shipyards (1998-2003) and specializes in all aspects of shipping law and marine insurance as well as law of contracts, transportation and corporate law. She provides legal services to major shipping law firms in Piraeus and abroad. She has also been a visiting Lecturer at the Institute of Chartered Shipbrokers in Piraeus. She was the President of WISTA Hellas for the period 2012-2014 and is currently a member of the Board of Directors of Hellenic Maritime Law Association.


Katerina Mylona

Katerina Mylona was born in Cyprus and obtained an LLB degree in law at Bristol University, in England. She then obtained her Master's degree in Shipping Trade and Finance at City University. Katerina worked in Den Norske Bank in London for a year before joining her family business Transmed Shipping Limited. She has been with Transmed for almost twenty years. Katerina is married to Elias Angelakos and they have three children.


Dr. Konstantinos Rokkos

Chief Executive Officer and a Chairman Director of TST International SA, partner at TST International Group. Doctorate in Maritime (Risk) Management and a MSc in Marine Engineering and management with distinction. He has also graduated as Dipl. Electrical- Mechanical Engineer in Greece and been awarded Diploma of European Engineer (Dipl. Eur. Ing.) as member of FEANI. Dr. Rokkos has excelled in Executive positions as MD and CEO of shipping companies. Formerly to his shipping occupation, Dr. Rokkos served as General Manager in the industrial sector. He is also an active member of non- executive positions in Board of Directors as Chairman, President and Vice-President in past positions.


Stylianos I. Siafakas

Chief Operating Officer of Product Shipping & Trading SA and has been in Shipping and especially in the Tanker Industry since 1989. He has both shipboard and office experience and has served in senior positions in large shipping companies for the last 16 years. Mr. Siafakas has studied at the Merchant Marine Academy (Faculty of Master Mariners). He has also studied Mechanical & Aeronautical Engineering, Shipping Law and Finance.. Continuous Education, Qualifications & Certification obtained, include between others: Lead Auditor, Risk Management, Media Response, Incident Investigation, Crisis Management, Train the Trainer, Behavioral Analysis, etc. He has been also involved in several Shipbuilding and Management Takeover projects in the last 15 years. He has been also involved in the development of SoX Compliance procedures and participated in 3 IPOs/Road shows for Nasdaq and NYSE.
