TYBA Joins International Maritime Club, Strengthening Global Maritime Collaboration

The Thai Yachting Business Association (TYBA) has officially joined the International Maritime Club (IMC), marking a significant step towards enhanced collaboration within the global maritime industry. The IMC, established 17 years ago, has been pivotal in uniting various facets of the maritime and oil & gas sectors. Its core mission revolves around fostering continuous development, facilitating the exchange of knowledge and ideas, and promoting the growth of maritime trade worldwide.

Founded in 2006 as the Thai Marine Business Association (TMBA), TYBA succeeded the Marine Alliance of Thailand (MAT), which played a vital role in abolishing import duties on new yachts in 2004, significantly boosting yachting in Thailand. TYBA, a non-profit organization, operates entirely on a volunteer basis, serving yacht builders, charter operators, brokers, dealerships, marinas, repair and refit services, yacht management, and other yachting-related businesses across Thailand.

TYBA's primary mission is to enable networking among marine leisure industry stakeholders in Thailand, thereby enhancing the growth, value, safety, and quality of yachting in the region. The association collaborates with various government authorities, such as the Marine Department (Ministry of Transport), Customs Department (Ministry of Finance), Ministry of Tourism and Sports, Tourism Authority of Thailand, Thai Chamber of Commerce, and the Senate Committee on Transportation, to address and resolve issues affecting its members.

By joining the IMC, TYBA aims to further its mission and leverage the global platform to address industry challenges, promote its members' interests, and contribute to the continuous development of the maritime industry.
