Sailors Society Joins International Maritime Club, Enhancing Seafarer Support and Wellbeing

In a significant development, Sailors' Society has become a member of the International Maritime Club, an organization that consolidates various maritime-related associations under one umbrella. For over two centuries, Sailors' Society has been dedicated to supporting seafarers and their families, addressing their welfare and wellbeing needs globally.

The Society's Wellness at Sea program equips seafarers with the tools necessary to manage issues such as loneliness, financial concerns, stress, and relationship challenges before they escalate into crises. Utilizing its unique "Circle of Care" approach, the Society ensures comprehensive support for seafarers' wellbeing across all aspects of their lives and careers, offering them the best opportunity for a fulfilling and productive career at sea. And its Crisis Response Network has been providing effective response services for over five years. This free global service offers 24/7 care and support to seafarers, their families, and shipping companies following critical incidents such as piracy, accidents, and natural disasters.

The Society is backed by a robust team of seniors, trustees, patrons, and presidents. Sara Baade, who joined as CEO in September 2020, brings extensive management and strategic policy experience from her previous role as CEO of The Army Families Federation.

The Trustees of Sailors' Society provide indispensable governance and oversight to this Christian maritime charity. They support and advise the senior leadership team, who are tasked with executing the Society's mission and vision, and ensure compliance with the expectations of the Charity Commission.

By joining the IMC, Sailors' Society seeks to advance its mission, utilizing the global platform to address the challenges faced by crews and to further support seafarers and their families across the world.
