The Mighty Mariner Career Summit 2025, hosted at Ganpat University, Mehsana, concluded
with resounding success on 28th November 2025. The event inspired and empowered
hundreds of aspiring maritime professionals, establishing itself as a strong platform for
knowledge exchange, industry exposure, and career-building opportunities. Organised by the
International Maritime Club (IMC) and the International Maritime Institute (IMI), in
association with Aries Energy, AIMRI, and Ganpat University, the summit brought together
leading figures from the maritime industry, academia, and student community for an
impactful day of learning and engagement.
With the objective of bridging classroom learning with real-world industry expectations, the
summit emphasised emerging career avenues across both sea-going and shore-based
domains. Students had the opportunity to understand the evolving maritime landscape and
gain insights into careers in logistics, offshore operations, marine law, renewable energy, ship
management, maritime entrepreneurship, and more. The atmosphere remained vibrant
throughout the event, driven by inspiring discussions, active participation, and a shared vision
for building the next generation of maritime talent.
The speaker panel featured respected voices from across the sector, including Sir Sohan Roy
(Founder-Chairman & CEO, Aries Group of Companies), Madhvendra Singh (FCI Arbitrator
and former CEO, Gujarat Maritime Cluster), Mr. Chirag Bahri (International Operations
Head, ISWAN), Purvi R Kotak (Founder & CEO, Kotak Loggistics), and Amit Oza (Founder
& CEO, Astamar Shipping). Their sessions blended practical wisdom with forward-looking
guidance, encouraging students to pursue excellence while keeping pace with global maritime
advancements.
In his keynote, Sir Sohan Roy highlighted the importance of global competency, adaptability,
and leadership qualities for those entering the maritime field. He stressed the growing
relevance of soft skills, sustainability awareness, and creative problem-solving in a changing
international maritime environment. His address served as a key takeaway for young
attendees aspiring for global roles in the years ahead.
The summit was held under the guidance and patronage of Shri Ganpat Patel, President of
Ganpat University, whose support played a vital role in the execution of the event. Dr.
Mahendra Sharma, Group Pro Chancellor of Ganpat University, delivered the university’s
keynote and reiterated the institution’s commitment to nurturing industry-ready maritime
graduates. He also emphasized the importance of integrating applied learning, research, and
industry partnerships into academic structures.
Students received a holistic learning experience throughout the day, with opportunities to
interact directly with experts, participate in discussions, and gain clarity on modern maritime
career pathways. All participants were awarded certificates, and the summit was made
accessible both physically and virtually to ensure greater reach and inclusivity. Many
students expressed that the event broadened their perspective, helping them view the
maritime industry beyond conventional sailing roles.
The summit was organised by IMC and IMI, institutions dedicated to fostering international
maritime collaboration through education and leadership development. The initiative was
supported by Aries Energy and the Aries International Maritime Research Institute (AIMRI),
both recognised for their contributions to innovation, research, and the promotion of
sustainable growth in the marine and offshore sectors.
